All content disappeared after admin crash this morning, where can I find it?

After WordPress admin went down this morning, my WordPress admin content disappeared. All posts, all photos, gone. I can see the face page of my blog by logging into WordPress.com but when I try to pull up a blog item, it says: “This is somewhat embarrassing, isn’t it?
It seems we can’t find what you’re looking for. Perhaps searching can help.”
And that face page shows no photos.

It sounds like your default homepage may have just been deleted. What’s the URL to the blog in question?

This is a WordPress.ORG issue, since your site isn’t the free WordPress.com hosted one. This forum is for support of WordPress.COM only, you need to check out the WordPress.org forums found here: http://wordpress.org/support/

Thank you all, I found out my developer dropped content in moving .org onto the site. It had been .com.

Maybe, Maybe not a .ORG issue – the site linked to their name is a plain html site – maybe they were starting a blog here that was going to be mapped as a sub-domain to the existing site

We need the blog URL to be sure

  • Did you still need any help with this?

http://pratipaksha.com is a self-hosted WordPress.org site, but if you did need help with a WordPress.com site, just let me know the URL and I’m glad to take a look.

pratipaksha.com had been a WordPress.com site, when the developer converted it to .org is when the .com content disappeared. I have restored most of that content, except for one page. If there would be any way to find that initial .com content, I would be thrilled. Unfortunately, that would be the same URL. Network Solutions is the hosting agency, and they had told me that the platform I was downloading was for .org. By now, I figure I just have to do the final rewrite on my own.

  • Hi there, do you remember the default WordPress.com address of the site? Every WordPress.com site has a domain that looks something like mygroovysite.wordpress.com.

I don’t see any WordPress.com sites on the christieyoga account – is there a different user account it might be connected with?

The account name was sadhaka for that site. But that is now linked to the .org. The only URL I have for that initial operation is pratipaskha.com/wordpress1/wp-admin. But that’s the same URL is I’m using now under .org. I fear I may just be too uninformed to be answer your questions intelligibly.

  • Hi there, I see a user called sadhaka in our database but there are no sites connected with it. I also see a site with that name, but there is no recent content in it: http://sadhaka.wordpress.com/

If you do remember the old WordPress.com address of the site, let me know and I’ll be glad to have another look.
