All featured images have disappeared from posts after changing theme

I changed theme today and uploaded Zino 1.0.9, a free theme. Since doing that I noticed that when I go to my landing page where you can scroll through previews of my blog posts, the featured images are no longer showing in the previews. However, if you click on the preview to go to the post’s page and see the whole thing, the images are there.

I went on the “Edit Post” section. noticed that the featured image bit in the menu was now blank where there was once an image. It’s the same for all the posts I’ve checked so far. Clicking on the “featured image” button allowed me to set the featured image again from the media pool, and after updating the post it seemed to fix the problem for that post, but not for the others.

I’ve got quite a few posts and I don’t fancy going back thru them all and manually updating them. Is there, perhaps, a setting I need to change that’ll fix it?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi there,

I visited your site and I’m seeing featured images for all posts on your site. Featured Images are a core feature of WordPress that themes are designed to work with, so you should not see those removed (from the settings of the post itself) anytime you are switching themes.

Did the featured images return for you, or are there still posts that do not have a featured image set. If so can you point them out so we can take a closer look. The few I spot checked (both new ones and older ones) seemed fine so I’m hoping this was a temporary issue of some kind.

    Thanks for the additional info!
