All I want is my thumbnails uniform.

I am not having much trouble getting used to the new dashboard but for the life of me I can’t seem to get my pictures to display uniformly sized. On the old system all my thumbnails would display as the same size picture in a post but now when I place several pictures in a post the are all different sizes. All I would like is to know how to make them uniform.

If it’s any assistance, I have a very graphic intensive site as well. One thing that I did notice, and I am really beginning to love is this: When you go to upload photographic media, the new dashboard (d/b) prompts very similar to the older one with ‘Thumbnail, normal…full, or this is new ‘Medium.’
It also has a feature that prompts for placement re: right, left, none , middle: What was important to me was to just get them up there insofar as my ‘Gallery’ is quite large and I was having some difficulty.
Here’s what I found: I can either size all photos in MS picture before uploading; however, now I just upload the enite image and it uses the ‘crushing’ prompt to modify size.
Hope this helps. Please let me know…it’s kind of fun–but the new photo size lends a lot to my page! Btw, do you know how to turn a ‘page’ into a ‘post’? CHEERS!

The answer that Dissfunktional gave seems to be working. Thanks for everyone’s responses. Now I just have to figure how to position them where I want them. Learning curve : ) The blog that is giving me trouble is http://www.awirestudentgallery.wordpress.com It is going to be mostly pictures of my students work and I want my new post like my previous one (march 15) Thanks again.

The new uploader and gallery feature will automatically resize images and includes several options for sizing. There’s no reason they shouldn’t produce uniform results. Without an example of the problem we cannot fix this. Finding a workaround might be fine for one person, but it doesn’t help the other 2 million users.

I’d love to give you an example of the problem but going into settings fixed it. All can say is that without setting the size in media it was not producing uniform results. I was getting a numer of different sized thumbnails and things were really looking messy. I’m not sure that this is a workaround. It seems like this would work for any of the other 2 million users.

BTW, there’s a bug in the Gallery that incorrectly orders files that have numbers in them.
To correct this, use [ gallery orderby=”post_title ASC” ] (without the space).

Now it is 01 … 09.
