All Images dissappeared from my last post

Hi I was just making a little edit for a typo in my last post on top of the page and when the post updated all the images was gone. Only the YouTube video remains….I so have all the images in the Media Library…do you know how can I solve this? Do I have to upload them all again?

Not just images but also links for me. I’d suggest that everyone cut-and-paste their HTML post to Notepad in the meantime. I’ve already tried re-pasting my post only to have all my images and links URLs re-stripped away the moment I hit “Update Post”…

@ leilaniamorey, on the Jan 13th post I see a video at the bottom but no images. On the Jan 12th post, I see a total of 6 images and 1 video.
If you are not seeing the images, clear your browser cache and reload the page.

I was just doing a post that contained 6 images. Once I was done, I previewed the post to see hwo it would look, but all the images were gone. I went back to my post (still in editing mode) and all the pics were gone because it saved. I tried it several times with no luck. Any help

@bearmythology, In your second post, I see all sorts of images. Again I suggest clearing your browser cache and reloading the page.
Just a suggestion, your choice as always: I would have since you use so many images and videos in your post is to limit the number of posts shown on your main page to say 3 or 5. Even with 5mb DSL it takes a very long time for your main page to load. Go to settings > reading and change the number of posts to show, and then click the “save changes” button at the bottom of the screen. I think your viewers would appreciate it, especially those with dial up or slow DSL (I would appreciate it and I have a pretty fast connection).

Again, wordpress has been rolling out new code to add new features and fix bugs and glitches are an ever present part of the process. Give it a little time to sort itself out is all I can suggest.

Mmmh…all the HTML has been stripped from the post…I mean, it’s ok….just would like to know if you think the post will go back as it was …or if I have to edit and add images all over again :)

I appreciate the assist. However, the problem is not with just images as the links end up disappearing as well. It’s as if everyone’s WordPress templates/CSS is currently disabled to accept images and URLs. I guess all we can do is wait for the codemasters do their thing. -
@ leilaniamorey, I cannot answer that question. I certainly hope the code will show up. One thing to remember is that we have the “post revisions” feature which typically is at the bottom below the text editor area. If you click on the title bar for that, it will have a list of your 5 paste saves or autosaves (revisions). I would suggest opening the next oldest revision, copying it out from the HTML tab, and then pasting it into a plain text editor for safe keeping just in case the code does not reappear.

@thesacredpath I did check all the revisions and they are all been stripped. Thank you for your assistance, I only hope this will solve itself , somehow :)

I followed thesacredpath’s suggestion of going to my earliest “post revisions” and, unfortunately, it has my “stripped” post as well.I’d suggest redoing your post as always. Then in the HTML tab, copy all of the code then paste it in Notepad and save it.
Once everything is fixed, just copy your code in Notepad then paste it in your post’s HTML window.
What I’m doing right now is I have a “Test” Draft that I’m not publishing. I keep posting some HTML codes with photos and links. If they disappear, then the glitch is still among us…

I’m brand new at this and just learning from scratch, but I too have the image loss problem described above. Somehow I ended up on a gallery page where all the repeated attempts to load 2 pictures showed them in gallery format but I don’t know what to do with any of them or how to delete the unwanted gallery.

I hope so too and I hope all the code and images come back as well. There are going to be a lot of (justifiably) cranky people if they do not.

Im having the same damn issue, added a gallery with two pictures and it kept trying to add a picture of Howard Dean screaming, LOL, in the gallery. Then when I tried to link the images to their url the images disappeared, so now I can only post them in gallery form right now. And, I lost my links to the wordpress political bloggers group damnit, the day I finally have time to create post this stuff happens. No more I say!!! OK, I know I know, as a volunteer here at the forum myself I guess it would be important to stop complaining and wait til they fix it, but I just couldn’t help myself.

@ thesacredpath Yep…it’s is a bit upsetting, especially when one does spend time and effort on a post to see it just not as it was intended or was originally :)
Oh well back to edit and I’ll keep my fingers crossed and hope the guys in charge see this :)
