All Images Duplicate When Published –HELP!

  • Unknown's avatar

I have almost had it forever, never to post again, but I wanted to ask you smart people: How do I STOP WordPress from automatically duplicating my images. It happens if I upload them from my own “stock” of photos, it happens when I copy the web address, it happens no matter what.

I have spent HOURS on this issue — can anyone tell me how to stop ALL images from duplicating? It’s awful and makes me want to run away!

    Thanks. :)

    Hello @amongthedevils,

No problem. Let me assist you with this.

I checked that you are using “Independent Publisher 2” theme on your website.

Reason for the double images on your homepage:

    – You have set the same “Featured image” for each post. Hence the front page(homepage) is showing post content (featured + blog post) images which are the same.

    Suggestion:

    – You can go to My Sites > Customize > Content Options.
    – Go to the “Featured Images” section
    – Under this section uncheck the “Display on blog and archives” option and check the preview of the home page and other pages. It should remove featured image from the blog and archive pages.
You can explore other option to show and hide the featured image in this section.

Alternatively, if you do not want to show the featured image anywhere then you can remove the featured image from posts – https://amongthedevils.wordpress.com/2019/03/28/sending-love/

You can find more information on the featured image here – https://en.support.wordpress.com/featured-images/

I hope this helps and let me know how it goes.
Please feel free to ask if you have any doubts.

    Thank you,
