All My Drafts Are Missing
-
I have made many drafts since starting my WordPress blog. I was working on a particular draft this past week. I was going to finish it. So, I went to my Dashboard and in the Drafts section it says “There are no drafts at the moment”.
I had dozens of drafts that have just disappeared representing massive amounts of work. I’ve never had this problem before.
Why did they disappear? Where are they? Can I get them back? If so, how? Are other people having this problem?
This is very frustrating. I have a week off from work. My plan was to spend the week working on some of my drafts, but now I can’t. And if they are permanently gone, I’m going to be very angry. This would be like finding all your emails gone. Is WordPress not a reliable site? Can I or can I not trust my work to be safe on this site?

Never mind. After repeated attempts to find my drafts this afternoon, the moment I posted the above query my drafts have now shown back up on my Dashboard.
I guess that answers my question. Yes this site is reliable. LOL
My faith in WordPress is restored. Still, I think I need to back up my drafts.
I’m curious about a related issue. I have my blog posts backed up on my computer. When I export my blog as a file does it include the drafts? If not, is there an easy way to export all my drafts as a single file?

Thanks, timethief! It’s good to know that drafts are included. So, I guess my drafts are safely backed up. I feel comforted in knowing that. :)

Not to worry wordpress.com has redundant servers. :)

Redundant servers is a very good idea. It’s ironic that I made the comparison to losing all of one’s emails. I just now came across the report that Google accidentally eliminated a 150,000 accounts with all their emails.

I hope Google is able to retrieve those accounts. That sucks for those people. :(
One should back up all of one’s personal info and documents. But I’m sure most people don’t.
