All my Facebook posts have disappeared

    I’ve seen this query posted before but not for a few years – previous one here https://wordpress.com/forums/topic/all-facebook-posts-disappeared/

    I realised today that my publicize to FB wasn’t working on my site – whattheredheadsaid.com as it had disconnected. I tried to reconnect and it keeps coming up with the same error – “App Not Setup
    This app is still in development mode, and you don’t have access to it. Switch to a registered test user or ask an app admin for permissions.”

    I’ve now seen that all previous publicise posts on Facebook have disappeared. I last remember seeing one a week ago but I’ve scrolled back a couple of months and they have all gone.

    So there are two parts to this query – how can I get Publicise to connect to Facebook again and how can I stop Facebook from the making the posts disappear? I appreciate I need to also contact FB but all previous threads about this seem to end with people being told to contact FB and I’m hoping that by now there will be more of a resolution to this issue.

    Hi there,

    We are currently experiencing an issue affecting connections to Meta (Facebook/Instagram). The issue prevents posts from being shared via our Publicize service, as well as the Instagram widget and Instagram Gallery Block

    The issue is under review as we speak, and we are waiting for a resolution by Meta before services can be restored.

    This issue is affecting WordPress.com, as well as Jetpack-connected sites and the Jetpack Social plugin.

    Please do not take any action with your Facebook or Instagram connections yet. We’ll update here once we have more information.

    Posts that had been previously shared to Facebook disappearing from there, is entirely a Facebook issue. We have no ability to remove posts from your Facebook page via the Publicize connection, and no control over their content moderation policies or practices, so unfortunately that’s not something we’ll be able to help with.
