Why are none of my subscriptions and email notifications not working?

Yesterday, suddenly and not anounced my subscriber – widget changed to a blue “Follow” – symbol.
The effect: no one gets email notifications about new posts anymore. And I don’t get notifications of new entries of other blogs I’ve had subscribed to. Pretty sad.
Does anyone WHY that happened, HOW I can get back to normal, and WHO was so bold to just invent this, change all and not even bothered to let me know? Or am I just sooo behind again, and didn’t notice an announcement?

Hi there,
We recently changed the look for the blog subscription Widget. For logged in WordPress users visiting your site, they can simply click on the “+Follow” link and will automatically be subscribed to your blog.
For users who are not logged in, or who do not have a WordPress account, they will receive a prompt to enter their email address after clicking on “+Follow.”
In short, the Widget still provides the same function, but has just had a little makeover. I hope this clarifies things!
Additionally, if any of your readers have stopped receiving email notifications, please let us know.

Well I must be pretty stupid then, but I don’t get notifications of new blogs anymore of the 3 blogs I now “follow” . And the people formerly subscribed to my blog don’t get notifications either. And: yes, they did push the “follow” button.
simply doesn’t if it would, I couldn’t care less how you call it…. -
and just forgot: I didn’t “receive a prompt” to enter my email adress eitheer. It just changed to following. but I’m not. Why fix it if it’s (was) working?
