Investigate disappearance of all my former WordPress sites. Or at least they are not searchable. E.g mekongexploration.commission.com (or could be ‘mekongexplorationcommission1866.com’)

According to whois info your domain mekongexplorationcommission.com expired on March 9th 2022. After a lengthy period an expired domain becomes available again. On June 27th 2022 someone else bought that domain. When you let a domain expire you are literally saying you don’t need it anymore. There is no way to claim an expired domain.

As @staartmees indicated, that domain (which was not registered here at WordPress.com) had expired, exited the redemption window, and was purchased by another party. Once a domain has been purchased by someone else, there’s nothing you can to do recover it.Regarding your site, it’s associated with a different WordPress.com user account than the one you’re currently logged into. You would need to log into the correct account to manage the site and to remove the domain connection for
