All posts appearing on the slide.

All my post are just on display. I want a situation where my older post will be hidden from the front page, that you only have to view older post when you click older posts below the posts. In other words, I want my a situation where may be 10 posts will be display with an option to view older posts. Secondly all my entire posts seems to be appearing on the slide, which I am not happy about.
Please I need support on her to fix this.

Hi !
In settings/ reading you can determine how many post you want to show in a page.
When you say “all my post seem to be appearing on the side”, you mean on the right sidebar ? You can remove and/or adjust widgets (appearance/widgets) to fix this.Élise

I went to the settings/reading, i saw Blog pages show at most and i chose 4 but when view, it showing more than 4 posts.
