all the shares have disappeared from my blog articles

I have just gone onto my site and all the shares that were on there (to Linkedin, Facebook, etc.) now show as zero even though they used to show the actual numbers. Doesn’t look good when I direct people to my site. Any ideas please?

I have the same issue. I know that WP switched to https hosting for greater protection. They said that the share counts would be corrected in due course. For Facebook, they also shared a FB link where you could debug individual posts. I tried it for a few posts to see and it worked. However, all of my share buttons for all posts have once again be reset to zero. I am hoping that this apparently system-wide issue will be resolved soon.

Here’s a temporary fix: It appears that the problem is with the official share buttons (which I prefer). They are all at zero. However, if you switch to icon only or icon + text, the numbers come back. So I have switched to icon pending a fix for the problem. It is much better to have the numbers than a series of zeroes.

Thanks for that, I’ll give it a try. It was really bad timing as I had just directed someone I wanted to interview to my site so they could see my articles were being shared and suddenly all the information had gone…. Grrrr. As you say, the temporary fix is great until it gets resolved :-)

I checked your site and I see the numbers are back now that you have switched.

Thank you for simple yet effective advice :-). The share numbers may not be huge but they look a lot better than seeing zero! :-)
