all user interface pages appear in plain text—why??

I’m a totally new user on wordpress, just created my blog two days ago, and I’ve been pretty pleased with the way things have been going so far, creating new content and rearranging items within my theme (Cutline) and all that. Everything was going fine until yesterday.

First what happened was that I lost the ability to edit my posts in visual mode instead of in code mode. I could see both tabs but clicking on the visual tab just had no effect. I went into my profile settings and yes, the “Use the visual rich editor when writing” option is clicked. I’m not an experienced blogger and I know next to nothing about code so I need the ability to edit in visual mode!

Next what happened, is that I logged out and then logged back in again a bit later, and found that my whole user interface is in now plain text—absolutely no formatting! Not sure if I’m using exactly the correct terms here, but while the blog itself looks fine when I view it, my whole user interface is in stripped-down mode and looks like the internet circa 1995! I’ve tried logging out and logging back in again a number of times, and have searched the forums and FAQs and just can’t seem to find any info on this. The other windows I have open in my Firefox all look fine, so it’s not a browser issue.

I appreciate any and all help or advice!

The first thing to try in cases is to log out, clear your browser cache and cookies, close the browser, reopen it and then try.
