Allow comments for first post to be viewed on home page

    When using twenty sixteen theme the home page can be set up so the most recent posts can be seen. However the comments for the first post are not shown at the end of the first post unless the reader clicks comments and is lead to the post page. It would be great if the comments for the post can be showed on the homepage (or at least up to a certain length).

    Hello,

    Comments are collapsed on the front pages of our sites and this cannot be changed. In a new blog, one does not have many posts or comments. In an established blog with many comments if the comments did not collapse on the front page it would become a mile long in no time flat and page loading time is a page ranking factor. We have only seconds before visitors refuse to wait and click out.
    For these reasons, this is not a default feature.

    If you want to request that while knowing full well that how comments are collapsed on posts when displayed on the front page is coded into the core of WordPress software you can click this link and start a thread in the Ideas Forum https://en.forums.wordpress.com/forum/ideas.

    Staff review all requests there and if and when they honour them they contact those making the request at the email address registered here https://wordpress.com/me/account

    Also, if you would like to do it yourself, i.e. for your theme to have comments show on the home page, you will need to upgrade to the business plan and customise the PHP of the theme.

    It looks like the here it explains well how you can have the comments on posts show up on the home page like the user wants is a PHP workaround.
