Allow Comments Setting Not Working

    I have set the default under Sites/Settings/Discussions to ‘Allow people to post comments on new articles’ but every time I create a new *Page* I have to manually enable Allow Comments. I don’t have to manually able Allow Comments for *Posts*. That seems to work fine, but for Pages I do. Is something broken? Do I misunderstand how WordPress is supposed to work? Is there a way to get new Pages to also default to Allow Comments?

    Hi there,

    By default comments are enabled on blog post since commenting is an important part of creating conversations around your posts. However on Pages, comments are disabled by default since it’s not that common to comment on pages, whereas it’s much more commonplace on blog posts.

    You can enable them when publishing a new page or editing an existing one, but there is not a central setting in your site to turn comments on by default for all pages.
