Allow comments to media

  hi,
  i have a photoalbum and i would like to allow people to comment on the photo’s, but i dont find an option how to allow that.
  Now it just says that comments are closed?

  Go to the top right hand corner of your Admin page and click “screen options” and enable the “Discussion” module there. http://en.support.wordpress.com/screen-options/

  The main page for setting up default comments setting is here > Appearance > Discussion

  Enabling comments on individual Posts and Pages > http://en.support.wordpress.com/enable-disable-comments/#enabling-and-disabling-comments-using-the-discussion-module

  Edit post and under the editor box scroll down until you find the “Discussion Module”
  locate and enable these:
  Discussion
  __Allow comments.
  __Allow trackbacks and pingbacks on this page.
  Click “update”

  thanks, but all that is for posts and pages, but not for media…

  Media are attachments to posts and pages. To enable commenting on media you have to enable it on the posts and/or pages.

  comments are allowed on http://cirkusbanjaluka.wordpress.com/acrofestival-2011/ but not on the media it has attached…

  This is link to a thread on the opposite of what you want. I believe that reading it may be helpful. If it isn’t then you will have to contact Staff. After you use the searchbox, under the search results, at the bottom of the page there will be a section that says “Have you found the answer to your question?” You can choose either “Yes I found the answer to my question.” or “No I didn’t find the answer to my question and I would like to contact support for help.” The no option will reveal the contact form.

  well, i tried to delete the gallery already to re-add it after i changed the default settings, but that didnt work. It goes a bit too far for me to delete all the pictures and to reupload them again just to try if that setting works. Or…

  Oh Ill try one pic…

  So it works then, and now I did the whole gallery again :( not very cool but anyway.
