Allow limit to words in rss widget
-
If there is already a limit, it is too large for me.
It would be nice for the blogger to decide how much space a rss feed will take up. -

That is not the solution. We should be able to limit the content, like our own rss feeds can, at blogspot they allow just a paragraph for the description, and it looks very nice.

I’ve come to the conclusion that your posts in the forum are not really ideas but are complaints that WP.com doesn’t do what blogspot does. If that’s the case, it seems that you would be happier over there.
For many of us, turning off the content is the solution. Especially because using Firefox or IE7, I can hover over the title and read the first part of the post, as long as the originator of the feed has properly configured things on their end. (And yes, it is a configuration on their end as I’ve had to notify folks about it. As is what displays in the feed.)

Hi Vivian, I have sensed your upset with my posts on the forum.
I think wordpress is fabulous.
I think my contributions have been in good faith, and hopefully inventive.
I enjoy brainstorming. And would be proud if any ideas were adopted by wordpress.Regarding this post, I would guess more than 90% of wordpress users do not use the content feature in the RSS feeds because they are unmanageable.
I think it would be a good idea if we bloggers could limit the amount of words in the content.
What do you think?
Do you think that is a good suggestion?
Would it not make wordpress even better?I will follow your advice and turn off the content.
I also thought (another idea) if peoples names were automatically linked to a blog, you would not have to continually ask people to provide a link to their blog. And the forum could automatically refuse non wordpress.com users, that would also save you informing people the forum is only for wordpress.com users. I realize a user might have more than one blog, and I have not (yet) thought of a solution for that.
