allow readers to post

    Hello.
I have created a blog intended to be used by elementary school students. The idea is they will all blog ideas on books they are reading for lit circles, and read and comment on others’ blog posts.
How do I give them access to write posts?
I don’t want to have to invite them as individual users – there are 90 students.
Can I organize them by their homeroom class?
Thanks for any help you can provide!

  • Hi there,

Inviting them as users to the site is the simplest option on a free WordPress.com site. Also note that under COPPA we’d need parental consent for any user under the age of 13 to have a WordPress.com account.

You can also have them submit posts via a contact form which you then post for them, or you can use our post by email feature so that they email posts directly to the site, where they’re then published automatically. In either case you’d be shown as the author of the posts, though.

    Post by Email

The other option is to use a plugin that allows submission of guest content, but that would require our Business Plan.
