Allowing Gallery Images to link to an attachment page

    I have a gallery of images and I want my readers to be able to click on them and for the site to send them to another page that contains more information about them. I set up an attachment page for this reason. I have properly entered all of the links on the picture in the gallery. Instead of going to the attachment page, however, it merely sends me to the gallery carousel. I went into the Media section and disabled the gallery carousel but it still gives me the carousel, not the attachment page.

    Hi there,

    Were you able to get the attachment page set up the way you wanted? I checked the gallery on https://arkansasdisciple.wordpress.com/blogs/other-greco-roman-images/ and it appears that the attachment pages are set up the way you described.

    Let me know if you’re still having issues or if this is in reference to a different gallery page on your site.

    I think I have it working now. It seems that you cannot use an attachment page when you display the images in the gallery form. The default is always going to be what you have entered in the media section for each image. It looks to me that I would have to enter the images individually as blocks in order for the attachment page to work?

    Hi @nataliehall1963, if you’re using the gallery block, you should be able to enter individual URLs for each image. Here’s how:

    Add a gallery block using this:

    /gallery

    That should give you our default gallery block.

    Select your images and insert the gallery. You should be in the post editor. Click on one of the images, and click the link icon at the top. You should be able to enter a URL, opt to open in a new tab, etc. Just be sure to either type enter after entering the URL, or press the arrow button to the right of the URL to save your link.

    Then move on to the next image.
