allowing guests to post to memorial site

  I’m looking for a way to allow guests to post information – shared memories, photos etc – on a memorial site and am not sure if I am going to be able to do this on wordpress.com and if I should look for a self-hosted solution instead. Ideally, I would like to offer friends, relatives, acquaintances and so on some way of sharing their thoughts on someone who has recently passed away. I don’t really want to ask them to sign up for an account and I don’t think the Comments facility is really appropriate for this either.

  Ideally, I’d like them just to write a few thoughts and get notification that they had done so. I could then moderate the content and publish if suitable.

  I’ve looked at using a contact form but don’t know if it’s possible to convert the contact form to a post automatically. I’d like to have a dedicated posts age with all of the shared memories.
