allowing people to download my mp3’s.
-
I’m currently working on a project where I record a track everyday for the next year and post it on wordpress.com. I’d like to let people download my tracks since copyright isn’t an issue.
So what’s the easiest way for me to allow this? zip file? I can’t seem to figure it out?
Any help is appreciated. -
A zip file with many mp3’s would be huge and not accessible to everyone. I’d suggest making a separate post for each track. Write something about each track, and include a link to each mp3 file and an audio player shortcode in the post. That way people will be able to listen directly from the post with the audio player, download the file with the link, and use your RSS feed as a podcast too.
If you have a space upgrade you can upload mp3 files directly to your blog. zip files aren’t supported.

Doing one post per soundfile is also a good way to boost your Googlejuice. The more posts, the higher you’re going to rank in searches.

thanks. I’m posting 1 post per sound file, and I’m including the shortcode for the audio player. I’ve also done the space upgrade because I hope to have a pretty massive library by the end. I’ll also try the RSS thing.
OOh, I just figured out what I was doing wrong. Thanks, community!
