Allowing people to follow my blogs

  I am trying to allow other people to follow my blogs. I see many folk have ‘follow me’ widgets or buttons to press on the blog page that allow them to sign up, but I cannot find this widget in my customiser. The examples all have an ‘add a widget’ button in the customiser but I do not. Any ideas?
