almost blank page loads first when opening address

Not at all technical alas, this is my first attempt at anything like this but… I’ve bought a ‘proper’ address and managed to link it to my blog page. I’ve created a page I’m reasonably happy with although I can’t put pictures where I’d like them to go. But my main problem is when I type the web address, it brings up just the blank page with my own title and tag line, but no proper text. When I click the tag line, my own page appears. I don’t know how to get this proper page to appear immediately.. Any help would be gratefully received, thanks for reading.
