Already bought domain name at wordpress.com. Need to transfer everything to .org

  Hi

  I signed up to wordpress.com at cherylmarkosky.wordpress.com and bought the domain name cherylmarkosky.com, which it now directs to.

  Didn’t understand the whole .com vs. .org situation back then, so bought a theme and now need to transfer the whole lot to .org in order to install said theme.

  This is where I am stuck. I am not at all experienced at hosting my own thing, or FTP, so in layman’s terms, what do I do now? As I bought the domain from wordpress.com, I don’t have a clue about how to access the hosting side of things.

  I’m sure this has been answered before, apologies, I didn’t know where to start looking.

  You need to hire a host then install WordPress.ORG on it – then export from your blog here and import to your new blog – Get help at WordPress.ORG for the install (they are not a host) – they do have host suggestions –

  Moving the name is the last thing you do – see below: http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/
