Already paid for domain transfer $18

    I have already paid $18 for the domain transfer. My transaction number is [REDACTED] but today I unlock my domain after completion of 6 month (compulsory domain lock period). And during transfer procedures I again asked to pay $18. Please allow transfer my domain to WordPress using above transaction. Thanks

    Hi @janscoit, we’re checking on this for you. One point to clarify: you would need a hosting plan for the domain to work properly here, and when you add a plan, you’ll get a credit for the domain.

    Will you be hosting the site here?

    I have brought wordpress.org professional hosting plan through name.com for this domain and using it for an other domain. If I am not wrong with professional hosting plan 25 websites are allowed.

    I think there’s some confusion here. There are three different “WordPress” at play here:

    1. The free, open-source WordPress software which powers your website.
    2. WordPress.org which is the open-source project that works on the WordPress software and where you can get the software for free to use on your own hosting provider.
    3. WordPress.com which is a managed hosting provider of the WordPress software and with whom you’re contacting now.

    If you purchased hosting through Name.com, then they are your hosting provider, not WordPress.com. If you need to add more websites, you would need to do so at Name.com.
