  Hi, I’ve already purchased a domain and website through GoDaddy but I am trying to add a wordpress theme to it. Please help!

  It seems that your site is not hosted on WordPress.COM. Your site is hosted on GoDaddy.com with a software install of WordPress.ORG which means that it is not applicable to this forum.

  It would be better suited for you to ask this question at https://WordPress.org/support/ for a more accurate answer. If you don’t have a WordPress.ORG account you’ll need to create one. Your WordPress.COM account won’t work there.

  Also, you can read the differences of WordPress.com and WordPress.org.
