Alreay bought domain, which plan to buy for a blog

    Hello,

    I’m complete newbie with WordPress. I have a blog on blogger and want to transfer it to blogger

    I bought a new domain at GoDaddy, and searching for which WordPress plan to buy, I found that in mapping my domain to the blog, it would be free the first year in WordPress, but I would have to pay for the domain anyway the following years?

    Did I misunderstand anything?

    If, for instance, I take the $8 Premium plan but pay my domain to GoDaddy, will I have to pay anything for domain the following years (after the first free year) or will I just pay $8 for hosting and service to WordPress?

    I looked for it and could’nt find the data on the site?

    If although having bought your domain at GoDaddy you wish to build a site here at WordPress.com rather than over there at Godaddy then you will need to map/connect your GoDaddy domain address to your site here by purchasing a Personal plan or higher. Note that you have paid GoDaddy for your domain and will need to keep paying GoDaddy each year to continue to own the domain.
    (You would have been able to register your domain free for the first year (with an annual plan) if you had registered it here at WordPress.com rather than GoDaddy).

    I think, I got the point.

    I just pay a plan for hosting services at WordPress.com and pay the domain at GoDaddy, but I will not pay more domain fee at WordPresss If it’s paid at GoDaddy.

    Hi,

    Yes that’s correct, you won’t have to pay twice for the domain.
