Alt text feature not available with links

Hi,
I’m having trouble adding alt text to the links in my story. Just a little over a week ago I was able to add it when I clicked on the link icon (Insert/Edit Link) on the toolbar, and there was a text box that allowed me to write the alt text. Now, the only text boxes are URL, Link Text and Link to existing content. How do I add alt text now? (The post I’m having problems with has not been published).
