Alter featured content

I’m wondering if it’s possible to create dummy pages to appear in the featured content at the top of the page, and then redirect to another page within my site when they are clicked on?

The purpose would be so that I have control over the text that appears. I don’t want to alter the page names of the content it’s currently pointing to.

    Many thanks

Hi there, I see you are now using Custom Excerpts on those three pages. That would have been my suggestion since we can’t do any sort of redirects here at WordPress.com

At the moment I have one page as the featured content image, but unfortunately the text I want to appear can only be the name of the page, which is why I wondered if it’s possible to create a dummy page simply to feature on that top image immediately below the primary menu.

    Is there a solution?

Hmmm, I’m not seeing a way to do this. I thought possibly you could add linked text above the More tag in the featured page and then we could use CSS to hide the page title, but Venture does not show any text on that featured page, even above the read more. I’m at a loss.
