altering the appearance of my theme

  HI I have the Oxygen theme. I wanted to clean up the sidebars and removed most of the widgets. However I am still left with the blog roll menu/widget on the right side, Meta underneath this (which i moved to the footer and now is in both places) and on the left sidebar categories and archives which I again removed. how do i make it so the blog roll, archive, categories and meta tabs aren’t visible on the sidebars?

  additionally to this I would also like to remove the comments box at the bottom of the page. Thanks

  Hi there,

  I took a look at your site and I see what you mean about the extra widgets. The issue is that the Oxygen theme does not have the ability to stretch the main content area to fill the space if no widgets are put in the sidebar.

  As such, if there is nothing in the sidebar, the theme fills it with default widgets instead.

  If you’d rather have nothing at all, what you can do is put a Text widget there with just a single space and it will make the other widgets go away, however a lot of whitespace appears instead. I’ve put the Text widgets there right now so you can see what it would look like.

  Otherwise, you can put in different widgets or even choose a different theme if you’d like!

  I would do it for you, but if you know how you can do it for any or all of your pages! :)

  The “About” page, which is your front page, has been updated so that the comment box is gone.
