altering themes?

  Hi guys–
  I’m looking at various themes to choose from, whether regular or premium. My question is: when picking a basic theme that is presented in the display, can I change layouts, colors and choose different fonts. I’m an older artist, cartoonist, designer, who has been using Front Page and I like to exercise control, not just take what’s offered.
