Hello Admins:
Simply, I would prefer to upgrade ONLY if I were allowed to pay offline, via cashier’s checks from my bank account. It would mean me having to mail my cashier’s check to you. Do you not ever make any exception to your rule?
In addition to this request, I seek clarification. If and only if I pay for an upgrade of my site, then does that mean my writing is officially published to the masses? Would I ever be able to use these publishing in a hardcopy book form I hope to one day publish? At this point, my only audience is the friend who got me started, and myself.

Unfortunately, we cannot accept checks, cash, purchase or money orders, or any payment that must be mailed. We accept all major credit and debit cards, and you can also pay directly through your PayPal account.

If you choose so, yes. On WordPress.com you have full control over who can view your site. For more information, you can read this document:

Yes. There are a number of “blog-to-book” services like FastPencil and BlogBooker that let you turn your WordPress blog into a printed book.
