Alternative to Twenty Ten
-
Hi all,
I’m looking into alternatives to the theme Twenty Ten that has a responsive format to accommodate tablets and smartphones. I was looking into Twenty Eleven (even had it active on the site for a while), however I noticed that Twenty Eleven insists on posting individual blog entries (when not displayed as part of the main feed) in a single column format (ie. with no sidebar). It was because of this that I went back to using the Twenty Ten.My question: is there a theme out there with a similar look and feel as Twenty Ten and Twenty Eleven that has a responsive format (for smartphones and tablets), but doesn’t insist on posting individual posts in a single column, giving the option of sidebar at all times?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there! Have you checked out Twenty Sixteen: https://theme.wordpress.com/themes/twentysixteen/? Or Twenty Fifteen: https://theme.wordpress.com/themes/twentyfifteen/?
They’re both responsive and also have a sidebar option.
Or if those aren’t quite right, this page will show you themes that are two columns, responsive, and free:

I saw the Twenty Sixteen one the other day, after I had posted this. I might look more into it when I have time. Maybe it might work for me.

Great! It’s a nice option and has lots of the most updated features, since it’s so new. :)

Twenty Sixteen has so much white surrounding it. Yes you can change the main colour to a different theme, but then you have so much of some other colour. I don’t think it will work for me (appearance-wise). I’m still on the hunt to an alternative to Twenty Ten. (I would have been using Twenty Eleven if it wasn’t for the lack of sidebar issue when viewing a single post.)
