Alternatives to Gravatar

Hi there – the Gravatar isn’t working…do you have any other options for us to upload photos or do we have to use Gravatar? It’s quite frustrating as it’s not linking properly – thanks.

  • @nataliadrs We don’t have multiple alternatives to Gravatar here, but we’re happy to help you troubleshoot.

I can see your profile image was added in the past week. Are you having trouble still? If so can you show me the page where you’re struggling?

Hi there – yes the WP picture isn’t showing. Please look at the bottom of this article:

As you can see the picture isn’t showing up. However, it is for my colleague, so I don’t understand where things are going wrong? It’s kind of urgent so would appreciate a reply. Thanks.

  • Hi there,

Can you please let us know the email address associated with your colleagues Gravatar so we can better troubleshoot it?

Please note that the email address will only be visible to me and other staff members.

    Thanks!

  • @nataliadrs that is this account, correct? We see a gravatar. Black shirt, side ponytail — should it have a different picture?

If that’s the picture you’re expecting but you are not seeing it, can you let us know what you’re seeing instead? Try right-clicking (or option-clicking) the image and opening it in a new tab, too.

Hi there – it’s not showing on wordpress at all.

I explained just now – below the article it is blank. It’s not
connecting up or something, something’s gone wrong. Please investigate this.

The picture is blank I mean. However, my colleague’s shows.

  • If the image is showing up in their Gravatar profile, but not on your site, then the problem is with your site.

Information like Gravatar images are usually cached on sites using the open source WordPress software like you are using. Please contact your hosting provider for help in refreshing your site’s cache. Then the image should appear.

If that doesn’t help, I suggest asking for advice in the self-hosted WordPress forums that provide support for the version of WordPress you’re using on your site. The community there will have experience with the different reasons why a site would fail to load a profile image added to Gravatar.com, and how to fix it.

But we have no control over how Gravatar integrates with sites that are not hosted on our servers.
