Altofocus Help

In the demo for Altofocus, it shows type that appears when the pointer crosses over an image (I don’t know the actual term). How do I get that? All I seem to be able to do is have type ghosted over the image but I don’t want that. I only want it to appear when someone places the cursor over it, just like in the demo. This is the free version on the template – does that matter? I am illiterate with website design – I’m trying hard though!

  • Hi there,

I assume you want the text to appear when you hover over the images in the gallery you have on your front page? That is not possible with image galleries.

The closest you can do is to add a caption to your images, and the Masonry Block you’re using for the gallery will then display the full caption along the bottom of each image at all times, not only on hover.

What you’re seeing on the front page of the demo site at https://altofocusdemo.wordpress.com/ is something completely different.

The front page of the demo site is set to display latest posts (your site has a static homepage set). The images you see there on the demo site are the featured images for individual posts published on the site, and the text that appears on hover are the titles of those posts. If you click on those images, it will take you to the individual posts.
