AltoFocus homepage – pages instead of posts?
-
I’m setting up a new webpage/portfolio since I have a book coming out soon, everything needs to look neat. I started using the “AltoFocus” theme cause I wanted a clean-lookng main page with images. For some reason, It only showed blog posts, not pages, on the front page… so I converted pages from my previous website into blog posts and things looked quite like I wanted them to look on the front page.
Then I noticed the URLs… that have dates in them.
Since I can’t create permalinks for posts on my plan and I’m not planning to go “premium” or “business” any time soon… is there a way to make AltoFocus show pages on the homepage, among posts? If not.. any other ideas on what to do?The page I need help with: https://elistamula.com/
Thank you in advance! The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi,
is there a way to make AltoFocus show pages on the homepage, among posts? If not.. any other ideas on what to do?
No, the AltoFocus theme is designed to display a grid of tiles on the front page, where the tiles are image links to posts. These post links cannot be replaced with page links. There may be other suitable themes that allow both posts and pages on a front page grid. The only one I’m aware of is Cubic, but the design of the theme is quite different. The way it may be done on Cubic involves assigning the link format to selected posts, and linking them to pages.

You may display pages elsewhere on the site and provide links to them in a menu. On AltoFocus, if you’re displaying the default header menu, links to published pages will automatically appear in the menu. Alternatively, you may create a custom menu and selectively add links to whichever content (posts, pages, etc.) you’d like to appear in the menu. See the Custom Menus support page.

Hey @musicdoc1, I’m not seeing your reply in spam. We’ve had a caching issue since the forums update last April. Is it possible that your reply didn’t appear initially but did after you replied again?

Hey @justjennifer,
Thanks. Yeah, it was a while before it appeared. I don’t know how long it was.
