Alves Theme: HEADER help!

    Afternoon all – wordpress newbie here – surprised at how simple the majority of things are! I used to do a bit of design as a kid – nearly 20 years ago and clearly things have moved on a lot!

    I’m using the Alves theme – seemed pretty perfect for what I had planned – but maybe not!

    I’m having trouble making the header (.masthead, I believe) behave as I’d like…

    The container, I think that’s the name – is split into 5 sections as per the below image.

    Ideally – I’d like the ‘logo’ – which is not really designed to be that size in the theme at the top, with a second row containing social links and then a third row which will contain the menu portion.

    I’d ideally like the theme to span the majority of the available page width.

    Is this way out of reach? Is this going to need some serious editing?

    Any help gratefully received!
