Alves theme – white line in drop-down primary nav menu

  • Unknown's avatar

    Good morning,

Some months ago, I wrote the following post asking for some help with my website: https://wordpress.com/forums/topic/alves-theme-white-line-in-drop-down-primary-nav-menu/#post-3650713

Staff member @supernovia kindly replied asking for a link to the website, which wasn’t ready at the time. It is now, FINALLY, live. The white line can be clearly seen in the ‘Services’ drop-down menu after the third item on http://www.concisecontent.co.uk.

If anyone is able to offer any advice on how I can get rid of this line, it would be brilliant! Thank you so much in advance, Helen

  • Hi! So the site isn’t hosted here still, so we aren’t able to see what could be happening on the wp-admin side. But for what it’s worth, I am not able to see the white line you’re describing, whether I use Chrome or Firefox:

I do see underlines when I hover over links; is that what you’re referring to?

Also, if it helps clarify things, here’s the difference between our services and the free software:

These forums are primarily for the free sites that use our service.

Hi @supernovia, thank you so much for your reply, I really appreciate it. I seem to be stuck in some kind of strange grey area between hosted and free themes by choosing to use Alves on my own site :)

How odd that you can’t see the line, but thank you again for sharing the screen grab. I use Firefox, too, and I attach what I can see: https://snipboard.io/Fpzfyk.jpg

The only difference is that I’m using MS and I can see you’re using Apple, but that shouldn’t affect the browser, especially if it’s Firefox on both.

In any case, thanks again for your reply. It looks like there may be no clear solution?

    Best wishes, Helen
