Am I able to change the fonts in my theme without CSS?

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hi,
I am relatively savvy with HTML, but for the life of me, I cannot figure out how to change the font style / size / color on my theme without the CSS upgrade. For example, the “2 comments” text or the title of one of my widgets. It allows me to change the header color but beyond that I have no idea. Can somebody help me out?

    Thanks!

Html allows you to make such changes to the content of posts, static pages and text widgets. For the rest you need the paid CSS upgrade.

As panaghiotisadam u can control the font for the content of the post / pages that u add. The remaining is part of the template and u would not be able to changes the same with plain html.
U would need CSS upgrade or u can try out Typekit (U can two font settings free in turn for a small linkback or u can buy their premium plans). Feel free to check my site [the blog header and Post Heading fonts].
U might also find this tutorial handy.

@rsathya – I am using Typekit now… however, the changes have not taken effect and I do believe it’s because I am not choosing the right Selectors. A couple questions, then!

Do you know the Selector for ALL links on the site (such as “comment” link and the “about” page if in a widget on the sidebar)? That is what I am concerned with!

Also, do you know if I can change the color? I haven’t found out how on Typekit yet… and I could probably live with the same font as I have now if I can get rid of orange links! Haha.

    Thank youuuu!
