Am I allowed links in my blog?
-
I was browsing through the forums at various topics and I got confused so I was just hoping for some clarification. I have just started a blog which will have a strong focus on reviewing different make-up brands. I’m not getting paid for the reviews or for promoting the products but I do link to the brand/product I’m reviewing, which I am also not being paid for its just so readers can see the products etc I’m talking about. Is linking back to brand websites, ebay (cause some of the products I plan to review are from there) okay as long as I receive no type of monetary compensation for it?
Sorry if this is a bit scattered, I’m a bit overwhelmed by all the terminology!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

As long as this is a casual blog, that should be fine.
Just avoid affiliate links, and don’t turn your blog into a storefront.

Yes it’s totally casual. /sigh of relief. Just want to point readers to the stuff I’m talking about.
Thank you for answering my question, I really appreciate it. =)

Does avoiding affiliate links mean that if I have a Featured Book, it can’t link to Amazon’s site in such a way that I get a penny if they buy?
I have NO intention of turning my blog into a storefront, but I’m going to put a Featured Book link on my blog anyway. A Featured Book would only appear if there’s some real link in the text. (For example, my blog is about being American and living in England, and I’m in the middle of a series on tea. In the post about to go up, I quote a line from an amusing and lighthearted book about drinking tea, and I’m going to make it the Featured Book — a new feature for my blog.)
If I’m going to feature book occadionally anyway, can I not make my Featured Book a link to Amazon and get credit for that referral? (Though realistically I’ll probably never accrue enough pennies on Amazon for them to disburse any of those pennies to me!)
