Am I being charged for a service I've not requested nor used? Please clarify!!

  I have neither requested nor to my knowledge paid for an account with wordpress. How can I clear up the perception that I’ve requested/paid for one? Am I being charged for a service I’ve not requested nor used? Please clarify!!

  Do you use a paid service that Automattic Inc. provides for self-hosted wordpress.ORG installs? If so, then you need a wordpressCOM account and that could explain the charge.

  Automattic Inc. https://automattic.com/ owns WordPress.com and other products too like Akismet and VaultPress, etc. so this could be a charge related to one of them. It’s important to know that each charge is sent to a the registered email address for each username account so if you have more than one username account that could be confusing you.
