Am I now being forced to use the new editor?

  I get it, WP is free, but I hate when “improvements” are forced upon me. I don’t like the new editor, I never have. Now when I go to my Admin Panel, I can see the old panel, for a moment, then I’m redirected to the newer panel.
  Thank you, but I can do everything I want in the old panel (except view my stats, thanks to the last enforced “improvement” which everybody hated but which we got stuck with).
  Is there anyway to just get back to the interface I’m used to and enjoy and not have to work in the new deprecated one?

  The old wp-admin dashboard hasn’t gone away. As long as you bookmark https://gointothelight.wordpress.com/wp-admin you can see your stats and write posts and pages and happily leave the “pencil” icon where it is.

  Yeah, that would make total sense. However, as soon as I try to navigate in that page and go to posts, I get the crappola UI.
  So many smart people forcing such bad UX on us. I wish they would leave well enough alone.

  That’s odd. When I go to posts-add new I stay in the “old” dashboard. I just see this message/link at the top:-

  “There’s an easier way to create on WordPress.com. Switch to the improved editor”.

  Of course I never click on it!!

  I also hate the new panel and I will not use it. You may be clicking the ‘pencil’ icon (in a square) at the top of the admin page and that does send you to the new panel to write a post. To stay in the old panel you have to add a new post from the left hand side, via ‘posts’.

  I used to get that message, but now, as soon as I mouse over anything, it jumps to the new portal, no clicking requried.

  So that’s it? No WP moderator coming on and explaining to me why I’m forced to use the deprecated UI like they did with statistics even after there were hundreds of posts against and none for?
  I hate that UI enough to be looking at other platforms. It is straight up crap. Not that the other one was a paradigm of UX, but once you got used to it, it’s just cruel to change it.
