am trying to add the smashwords widget to my page but cannot

According to smashwords you have a plugin that lets us put up our smashwords widget. But I do not seem to be able to add a plugin, nor do i see a simple way to add it as a widget from customise. The one way I did manage to add it made it come out more like a hyperlink. Is there anyway to put up the smashwords widget?
    Thanks

You are referring to what can be done on a wordpress.ORG software install. However, you have a wordpress.COM hosted blog and we have no FTP access and cannot install plugins. More to the point we cannot install an JavaScript widgets as the software strips the code out for security reasons and the smashwords widget is JavaScript.

Please read this support doc carefully http://en.support.wordpress.com/affiliate-links/

    1. WordPress.com allows bloggers to insert text affiliate links within post and page content to most third-party affiliate programs, provided they are not the primary content of the site in question.

    2. Image affiliate links in posts and pages and any banners and/or affiliate links in sidebar or footer widget areas, are still considered to be advertising and are not allowed on WordPress.com blogs.
