Amazing disapearing adsense???
-
I know we are not allowed to have any type of ads on our blogs which I don’t.
I clicked a link to one of my stories from a google search which gave the proper URL
I arrived at my blog page and I see a 468×60 banner displaying google ads and mid page 300×300 block google image ad. I thought to myself “wow we can do that now” I refreshed the page to see what new ad would show and the ads disapeared. Why? is this something word press is doing or is this the work of a hacker riding our traffic? Can someone please answer this. Also I noticed while researching that this is not the first time this has happened.
Thanks Dee -
Hello there,
Please read this carefully all the way to the very end http://faq.wordpress.com/2005/12/08/adsense/Blogger initiated adsense is not allowed on wordpress.com blogs.
However, wordpress.com does run ads on our free hosted blogs here and has been doing so for over a year.
http://wordpress.com/blog/2006/09/06/on-ads/VIP bloggers can run ads on their blogs http://wordpress.com/vip-hosting/
In the future you can buy an upgrade and remove the advertising if that’s your choice.

To support the service we may occasionally show Google text ads on your blog, however we do this very rarely. In the future you’ll be able to purchase an upgrade to either turn the ads off or show your own ads and make money from your blog.searchbox https://en.forums.wordpress.com/search.php?q=ads+on+my+blog

I do not mind the ads and agree that wordpress needs make money, What I do not agree with is things that go bump in the night and now you see it now you dont. Place the ads and leave the ads. Or allow us to purchase the rights to run our own ads.

@thaidarling
Thanks, in advance, for sending your opinions into staff during support hours. -
Being able to place your own ads, as specified in the “features” will be around in the future, as will be the option to opt out of them altogether.

You have not posted the link to your wordpress.com blog. Instead your username is linked to a blogspot blog with “not safe for work” adult/mature content in a blogging environment where there are many children. Why is that?
-
-
-
If you do register for a wordpress.com blog then know this. If the contents are like what you have in the blogpspot one linked to your username then your wp.com blog will have to be marked “mature” at the very least and may even be considered to be a porno spam blog.

I’m trying to be polite even though I concur with atthe404. Staff of course make the call on what’s mature, porn, or spam or, all three – we don’t. So I’ll leave this to Mark.

Where can I sign up?
I see that you have now linked to another blog – a wordpress.com blog. I do not know why you asked where to sign up when you already had a blog but here goes – the sign up link for a worpress.com blog is http://wordpress.com/signup There is no adsense sign up in place as yet.
-
Who linked? when you click my name it goes to my wordpress blog
thaidarling.wordpress.com no sign up page -
-
Yes indeed you have now linked your wordpress.com username to a wordpress.com blog “Beautiful Asian And thai women for marriage”. There is no place to sign up for blogger initiated adsense. It has not been introduced as yet.
-
You cannot sign up yet as it is not in place, and the volunteers here in the forums do not know when that will be, and wordpress.com has not made any announcements.
We just have to wait until they decide to do it.
