Hi Guys,
I’m trying to add my amazon affiliate icon to my website, by using the TEXT widget and then pasting the HTML, but when I check the website, all I can see is the link and not the image of the book I’m promoting.Could you please help?
Many thanks!

Hi,
If you can share the exact amazon affiliate code you add in the Text widget, that would help me in checking this issue for you, or simply, try adding the same code in a testing page, and provide me with the link to check why the image isn’t appearing fine…Thanks.

Hi, thanks for replying so quickly :)
Here you go:
<iframe style=”width:120px;height:240px;” marginwidth=”0″ marginheight=”0″ scrolling=”no” frameborder=”0″ src=”//ws-na.amazon-adsystem.com/widgets/q?ServiceVersion=20070822&OneJS=1&Operation=GetAdHtml&MarketPlace=US&source=ac&ref=qf_sp_asin_til&ad_type=product_link&tracking_id=cswi-20&marketplace=amazon®ion=US&placement=B01D7JPR9E&asins=B01D7JPR9E&linkId=Q6DXVP4D2SVWRW6I&show_border=true&link_opens_in_new_window=true&price_color=0E9713&title_color=0066C0&bg_color=FFFFFF”>

I searched for you, and found that WordPress.com blogs doesn’t allow embedding iframe codes in anywhere in your blog:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/code/Check this quoted paragraph there:
If you are familiar with HTML, you’ll notice that codes such as embed, frame, iframe, form, input, object, textarea and others are missing from the above list. Those codes are not allowed on WordPress.com for security reasons.
Also, check this old post regarding a similar question.

That’s terrible. So WordPress doesn’t allow me to monetize on my website, even though I’m paying 99 USD per month? I’d figure it’d be a win win for everyone in the process…
Oh well…
-
The only monetization way I know for WordPress.com blogs is “WordAds“.
I think you can also, think about WordPress.org, check this comparison:
-
…. and I remember that WordPress.com charges 99$ per year? not per month…
https://store.wordpress.com/plans/I’m only a WordPress user at the end, maybe one of the staff could help you further with this issue!
-
You’re right, per year.
I can’t use wordpress.org, it’s simply too complicated for me. I’m just a lay person, I don’t know much of codes and stuff : ( -
What you can do is use a Image widget, insert the cover of your book there, and choose as the LinkURL property your affiliate url (if that makes sense)
In this way, you will have your blog readers able to see the book cover, and if they click it the amazon page will be shown
For more about image widget, please refer to

Please read http://en.support.wordpress.com/affiliate-links/ The Amazon widget code will not work on a WordPress.COM hosted blog.
1. WordPress.com allows bloggers to insert text affiliate links within post and page content to most third-party affiliate programs, provided they are not the primary content of the site in question.
2. Image affiliate links in posts and pages and any banners, affiliate links in sidebar or footer widget areas, are still considered to be advertising and are not allowed on WordPress.com blogs.

You’re welcome. :)
P.S. Recommendation: Always use tag search. Why? Because I have been tagging threads for nearly 10 years now and tag searches are productive. ;)
