Hi @mslake, does your code use iframes or script tags? We do support Amazon affiliate links, but they need to use supported tags:

That’s an unsupported iframe code that will not display on a wordpress.COM site. WordPress.COM users have code restrictions. No JavaScript, no form codes, except these https://en.support.wordpress.com/forms/contact-form https://en.support.wordpress.com/forms/, no tracking codes, and no unsupported embeds or ifreames can be used on any wordpress.COM hosted sites.
Please read:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/code/
allowed HTML tags list – https://en.support.wordpress.com/code/#html-tags
https://en.support.wordpress.com/code/#javascriptFlash and other types of embed that use; frame, iframe, form, input, object, textarea are not allowed in WordPress.com posts, pages, or text widgets.

Ok it would be helpful if you guys actually said this in the affiliate linking info on your support page, which is what anyone starting a blog would read. Your info there is misleading:
Affiliate Linking
Affiliate links are allowed on WordPress.com as long as the primary purpose of your blog is to create original content.
When blogging about books you’re reading, music you love, clothes that strike your fancy, gadgets you’re drooling over, or whatever interests you and your readers, feel free to post relevant affiliate links using either text or images.
There are a few restrictions in what affiliate programs are allowed. We do not allow affiliate links for gambling, get-rich-quick schemes, multi-level marketing programs, disreputable merchants, pornography, malware, or phishing-type scams. We also do not allow sites that exist primarily to drive traffic to affiliate links.
It would be better to give bloggers a clear picture of exactly what the limitations are for affiliate links.
