Amazon Affiliate product links

I want to create a product link (for a specific book title) to Amazon.com (I have an Amazon.com Affiliate account). I highlighted and copied the HTML code provided by Amazon, and then I am supposed to be able to “paste it into the code for your website” (instructions from Amazon). I can’t figure out how/where to paste it. I tried adding a link but I don’t know where to put the HTML code. Please help!!!

Note hat you cannot use Amazon widget code as it will be stripped out for security reasons. You can use a simple Text or Image link, that’s all.

This is all new to me so I’m not sure of all the terminology. Using WordPress, is it possible to paste in an HTML link to an amazon product so that I can participate in their Affiliate program (which allows me to get a small bit of revenue from when people buy a product as a result of clicking on the link from my blog).

Generally speaking, affiliate blogging is banned here under the terms of service. Exceptions are made for authors selling their own books and similar situations. http://en.wordpress.com/tos/
If your use of the affiliate links falls within the ToS, you put the link in the HTML editor rather than the Visual editor of the post. And the widget code is javascript, so you can’t use that. You can only use plain HTML links.
