Amazon affiliates problem

  Recently I tried to put the codes generated on the Amazon affiliates site, but it didn’t work. It was only showing some weird links, not the actual box where it shows the image of the product and the price. I looked it up here, but I couldn’t find a solution that actually worked out. How can I solve this?

  Amazon widget code will not work on a WordPress.com hosted blog. But you can make use of affiliate links.

  @tonny733t, does it mean we have to find another web server e.g. blue host in order for amazon widget or plugin to work on our sites?

  @eduworld16 Yep, you’re right. If you want to have any plugin functionality on your site, you need to make use of WordPress.org and host it elsewhere, like Bluehost or SiteGround. You can have a look at WordPress.com recommended hosts section for a better host recommendation.

  @tonny733t, thanks for your advice. Guess I have used the wrong website, I used wordpress.com to create my website and upgraded it to even premium plan, do I need to change it to wordpress.org and host it elsewhere? or I can host it elsewhere straight?

  It depends on your need. If you want to have the ability to install custom themes & plugins and customize the site to your liking, then WordPress.org is the solution. If you don’t want to manage all this, then stay here.

  Also remember, hosting your content is free over here at WordPress.com but if you decide to self host the WordPress software elsewhere, you will need to pay for hosting.
