Amazon Payboxes and Domains

Alright, so I’ve searched via the searchbar above, and I haven’t seen a post like this. If I have, I apologize for the spam. Anyway, I’ve tried to put a donation box from the Amazon Honor System. Of course, they don’t work because of the restrictions wordpress has on commercial uses.
Now, I’ve seen similar topics (about links to Amazon stores and such) saying that moving to your own host will alleviate this problem. Is registering for my own domain through the method wordpres itself offers sufficient, or is there something else I must do?

The domain mapping option and domain registration are two different things. Once you have a domain name, you can map it here but you are still hosted here, although it will look like you’re not. All the restrictions apply.

I have read the faq and it didn’t really clear anything up for me. How would I need to go about hosting my site elsewhere while still using the wordpress set-up? Is such a thing possible?

Go to http://wordpress.org and you’ll find information about hosting and getting started. The free wordpress software (dashboard, etc) is similar to what you’re used to, but not exactly the same.
