amightywp – need help with blog followers again

  A while ago a lovely happiness engineer by the name of amightywp helped me move my subscribers to my hosted site. Here’s the thread: https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/moving-subscribers-to-self-hosted-site-via-jetpack?replies=18#post-1492705

  All was good, until…

  Yesterday I helped my friend set up her first blog and the minute she connected it to her FB page via settings>>sharing, bam, she had the total number of her FB followers show as her blog followers. Now I am jealous. Is this something only available to free sites?

  My hosted site uses the Jetpack subscribers widget and though I had a few troubles making it display my minions, I mean followers, amightywp was able to fix it. If you are out there amightywp can you make it show the total subscribers, wp followers AND FB followers too just like it does in the follow widget available on the free sites?

  Yes, this is something only available to the free sites.

  That’s a bummer, you’d think the hosted sites would have more features not less :(

  Not when it comes to community features. Remember, Automattic makes money off blogs on WordPress.com; it does not make money off independent blogs.
