amount of blog post content in emails
-
When I receive email notifications about new posts of blogs I’ve subscribed to, the entire new post of the blog is often contained in the email. I suspect that is true about emails to subscribers of my blog. That means I can read all of it without going to the blog itself. Most of the time, after having read it, I go to the blog in order to give the blog a visit, for its count, so that the blogger will know someone is reading his/her posts. But since I have more subscribers than visits, I think many simply read the email and don’t visit the blog for the reading. Is there some way that I can regulate how much of my post is sent in the email? Or can WordPress come up with a way to do that?
Thanks,

Yes you can set this here > Settings > Reading
locate this:
Syndication feeds show the most recent items
For each article in a feed, show
__Full text
__Summary
Select summary and click “save changes”. -
Terrific!
How much does “Summary” put in the email? Some first portion of what is written?
Thanks again. Ya’ll give great support.

I believe it may be 55 characters but I don’t know for sure. If you want to control this you can insert “the more tag” into each post exactly where you want to cause the content split. http://en.support.wordpress.com/splitting-content/more-tag/

BTW it looks like you have an issue on your blog.
Go to Settings > Writing and select “ ___ WordPress should correct invalidly nested XHTML automatically” and then scroll down and click “Save Changes.”Now, starting with your latest post, open it in the editor, make one minor change such as adding a space and then deleting it, and then click “Update Post.”
If you have been copying and pasting text from elsewhere without using either icon 5 or icon 6 in Row 2 of the visual editor, please see here so you know how to do this correctly in the future. http://en.support.wordpress.com/visual-editor/#pasting-text

Thanks again. I’m not sure what you’re referring to as the issue on my blog. I did see one letter out of place on one of the lines. I somehow do that occasionally and just didn’t see this one to correct it. If you were talking about how my archives aren’t formatted until one clicks to view all of the post – I’ve been told that’s a result of the theme I’m using.
